Apple is reportedly ordering OLED panels for this year’s iPhone 14 from the Chinese display company BOE. The BOE has been awarded a 50 million yuan contract by Apple to produce the display. It accounts for 25 percent of the OLED panels used in the new iPhone.

Only 6.1-inch OLED panels will be made by BOE, and screens for the iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will be ordered from LG and Samsung. This is also the first time the BOE has released panels for use in the current generation of new iPhones.

Previously, the BOE was responsible for the production of new iPhone models and later generations. The BOE is reportedly preparing to supply OLED panels for later iPads and MacBooks. For future contracts from Apple, the BOE will also expand the company’s B16 plant in Sichuan. And install power lines to produce the required number of OLED panels.

According to annual reports, the BOE produces nearly 60 million OLED panels, an increase of 60% over the previous year. Currently, BOE is the number one display manufacturer and the second largest supplier in the world after Samsung.

Apple to pay customers over $ 1,000 for selling iPhone without charger

A Brazilian court has ordered Apple to sell its iPhone without a charger to reduce its carbon footprint.

A Goiania court has ruled that refusing a charger when buying an iPhone violates the country’s consumer law. A Brazilian who buys an iPhone without a charger in its case will receive $ 1,000 in damages from Apple. This is not the first time a Brazilian court has fined an iPhone for selling an iPhone without a charger.

In the past, the Brazilian government has repeatedly fined Apple for selling new iPhones without a charger. Recently, an iPhone buyer in Goiania sued Apple over the lack of a charger in the box he bought. Article 39 of the Brazilian Consumer Code prohibits the sale of an accessory that must be used in conjunction with the original product.

According to Tecmundo, a Goiania court has ordered the buyer to pay 5,000 Brazilian Real (over $ 1,080) for violating consumer law. Apple has stopped adding chargers to phone cases since 2020. It sold separately without a charger for environmental reasons to reduce carbon emissions. At the time, the company said in a statement that the failure to include chargers in iPhone phones removed nearly 450,000 cars a year.

On the other hand, reports show that Apple. It has made a net profit of more than $ 6.5 billion a year from selling iPhones without chargers and headphones. As a result, Apple penalized in some markets for not including a charger in its case.

The case of no-charger in the case of the iPhone 12 was initially ridiculed by rival smartphone makers. But later high-end Android smartphones mimicked the latest Apple products, such as the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, without the charger.
